How to Make Beautiful Paper Gift Bags

If you need to use gift wrap bags, you don't need to spend extra money. Use leftover kraft paper in life, or other good-looking papers can also be used. Here's how to make a custom gift bag from cardstock that works just fine.

Tools/Materials

Vellum or cardboard, sewing machine, colored thread, craft paper or paper bag, ruler, scissors, etc.

Cut a piece of brown paper into a rectangle, then fold the rectangle in half, but not too hard and without creases. Use a ruler and pencil to draw the corners of a triangle. Keeping the paper folded in half, cut out the triangular sections.

Open the paper and fold it to look like a hamburger half, with the triangle on top of the opening.

Machine or hand sew the sides of the gift bag, insert the gift card and use pretty washi tape to cover and seal the triangular flap.

This is a large size gift bag, and the method is suitable for making in various sizes. First we cut a piece of brown paper into a rectangle, then fold it in half.

Sew the sides of the folded paper, leaving the top open. Fold the top down about 10cm, then punch two holes about 2cm in diameter in the center of the flap.

Put the gift in the bag, then thread the colorful ribbon through the hole and tie a pretty bow. This completes a beautiful gift bag.
